NAT Open Mode

This feature is available at Mudfish Cloud VPN v5.9.1 or above.

NAT Open mode allows you to configure the NAT type to be recognized as either Open or Full Cone, even when connecting through a mudfish node.

This is useful for peer-to-peer (P2P) based games, or games where NAT type determines game matching.

NAT Open mode only supports UDP protocol. No TCP protol supported.

How to enable the feature​

You can enable this feature as follows

  1. Launch the Mudfish Cloud VPN program and log in.

  2. On the dashboard, go to the "Settings -> Programs" menu.

  3. Set the "NAT Open Mode" option to On, and save.

Known limitations​

  • NAT Open mode supports UDP traffic only. TCP is not supported. Most P2P and FPS games use UDP, so this usually does not affect them.
  • It cannot be used with FastConnect mode. When both are enabled, NAT Open behaves as though it is not applied.
  • Advanced node mode is not supported. Basic and Multi Path node modes are supported. Using Advanced mode makes NAT Open behave as though it is not applied.
